Our Most Popular Experiences
Supertrike is a fun and unusual way to see Hawke's Bay and is popular with locals and visitors alike. Below are the scenic tours that we get the most requests for.
Hawke's Bay has some fantastic scenery, from the sun-soaked Pacific coastline and the Art Deco-styled seaside city of Napier to the productive plains and rising peaks of Hastings and Havelock North.
For a fully immersive experience with the wind in your hair and 360° unobstructed views, Supertrike tours of Hawkes Bay region are arguably the best (and most fun) way to see the local area.
We require all passengers to wear protective glasses (sunglasses) we do carry spares just in case.
Te Mata Peak Experience
The Te Mata Peak Experience is our most popular set tour, heading up to the highest point in Hawke's Bay.
Te Mata Peak, behind Havelock North, gives 360° views of Hawke’s Bay. Visitors can see Napier and Mahia Peninsula to the north and east, hill country to the south and east, and the Ruahine, Kaweka and Maungaharuru ranges beyond the fertile Heretaunga Plains. Mount Ruapehu is often visible in the distance.
Rising 399m above sea level, the peak is steeped in Maori legend. It is said that Maori chief Te Mata fell in love with the daughter of his rival, the Heretaunga chief. To prove his worthiness and win the beautiful Maori maiden’s love, Te Mata accepted a series of near-impossible challenges. The handsome chief choked and died attempting his final task, which was to eat his way through this rocky range. Te Mata Peak depicts the outline of his prostrate body and is called the Sleeping Giant by locals.
Climbing a mountain on a V8 trike is an experience to remember, great for celebrating birthdays or that special occasion, you are more than welcome to bring a bottle along to soak up the views.
The trip lasts approx 2 hours with a 20 mins stop at Te Mata Peak for photos.
Adults $180, Children $100 (8-11 years old). Minimum fare $360.
